Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

Casinos at Sea

New to Cruising? Get ready to be amazed!

Imagine an island adventure that combines maximum relaxation, white sand beaches, hidden waterfalls, rain forests, and exciting and colorful ports of call, with rock climbing, snorkeling, kayaking and shooting hoops. Talk about the ultimate vacation!  And depending on the ship you choose, add state-of-the-art fitness centers, massage and pampering, dancing, and Broadway musicals.

Royal Caribbean visits over a hundred ports of call, in some of the world’s most breathtaking locations. From the rugged beauty of Alaska and Canada/New England to the charm of Europe and the lush landscapes of Mexico, Hawaii, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Bermuda, and the Bahamas.

Their shore excursions will take you on adventures that you’ve only dreamed of. Over snow and sand. Through air and sea. Up mountains and along fjords. And for the best of both worlds, there are our cruisetours – a combination of an amazing cruise vacation and a land tour to the places a cruise ship just can’t go.

Royal Caribbean’s Voyager class ships (Mariner of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, and Adventure of the Seas) are five of the largest cruise ships in the world, and their Las Vegas-style Casino Royale®s are among the largest and most active afloat as well. All of the Voyager class ships feature 16 gaming tables and as many as 300 slots. But there is action to be found aboard all ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet, with a minimum of 8 gaming tables and at least 150 slots.

Cruise Activities

Enough Options to Make Anyone Indecisive!

From sunrise to sunset and around every corner, there’s something exciting for you to do on a Royal Caribbean International cruise vacation. Onboard, try the rock-climbing wall, or work out with one of our fitness trainers. How about a swim or a relaxing massage? Better yet, try your luck at Caribbean Stud Poker, attend an art auction, or turn it out dancing in a nightclub. There are even supervised activities for kids. And on land, we offer Shore & Land Excursions for everything from glacier trekking in Alaska to swimming with dolphins in Bermuda. Best of all, every experience is delivered with our unique Gold Anchor Service.

Casinos Onboard

There’s nothing like the sound of cards being shuffled, chips being stacked and slot machines paying off. We consider our Casino RoyaleSM to be a little bit of Vegas, a little bit of Monte Carlo and a lot of Royal Caribbean fun. We’ve got games for all levels of players. There are onboard lessons for novice players and tournaments for the more advanced. Casino Royale is open whenever you are sailing, so stop in and try your luck!

Every one of our cruise ships features an exciting casino, packed with interesting artwork, all types of table games, slot machines, and much, much more. Our slot machines accept $0.25 USD, $0.50 USD, $1 USD, and $5 USD. You can check out the number of tables and machines we feature in each of our casinos by choosing a ship below. However, we are always updating our casinos, so the exact number may change over time.

Tournaments
We offer Blackjack and Slots tournaments on most of our cruises. Entry fee is $20 USD. See the casino cashiers on your ship for information on entering the tournaments.

Blackjack Tournaments
Everyone has a chance to progress from the first round to the Grand Finale. Schedules for tournaments vary, so check your Cruise Compass or the casino cashier on your ship for scheduled events.

Slots Tournaments
An exciting chance to compete against your fellow guests for cash and prizes. Schedules for tournaments vary, so check your Cruise Compass or the casino cashier on your ship for scheduled events.

Casino Services

During your cruise, any purchases you make onboard are simply charged to your SeaPass Account. One of the exceptions, however, is in our casinos, where you can use other currencies in addition to your SeaPass Card.

All of our onboard casinos accept the following currencies:

  • Cash
  • Traveler’s Checks
  • Personal checks (2 per guest, per voyage, not to exceed $450 USD)
  • All types of credit cards

You can also use your SeaPass Account with credit card backing for $2000 USD per day, per guest and $100 USD per day for cash accounts.

If you’d like a line of credit for more than $5000 USD, this can be set up prior to your departure

Casino Guidelines

  • Admission
Guests 18 years of age or older are welcome to play. Some Alaskan ports require a minimum age of 21.
  • Hours
Check your Cruise Compass for hours. Most casinos open shortly after sailing. However some ports allow casinos to remain open.
  • Attire
    Shirts and shoes are required.
  • Bets
Minimum and maximum bets are posted at each table.
  • Chips
Chips are purchased at the gaming tables in U.S. currency only. They can be redeemed at the cashier’s cage and used only in the casino.
  • Credit
We accept SeaPass, traveler’s checks, and most credit cards for the purchase of chips or coins. A small service charge is added to credit card transactions other than through SeaPass.
  • Tipping
It is customary to tip a casino employee who has been helpful or with whom you have enjoyed good fortune.
  • Cameras
You can take photographs in the casino, but we kindly request that no videos be taken while the casino is in operation.
  • Smoking
Cigar or pipe smoking is not permitted in the casino. For the comfort of our guests, we have “No Smoking” tables and “No Smoking” slot machine areas.
  • Casino Etiquette
We want everybody to have a good time in the casino. If a player becomes loud and offensive or insulting to the other players, we reserve the right to administer our Guest Vacation Policy guidelines and ask the person to leave.
  • ICCL Guidelines
The International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL) is a non-profit trade association consisting of the 17 largest passenger cruise lines that call on major ports in the United States and abroad. The ICCL is dedicated to helping the cruise industry provide a safe, secure, fun, and entertaining ship environment for its passengers. Among the services that illustrate this commitment to fun entertainment are the gambling casinos found on most of the ICCL member vessels. Industry guidelines address the equipment, conduct of games, internal controls, and customer service for casinos on cruise ships. The guidelines generally foster the following goals:

    • To provide reasonable rules by which all gambling onboard member vessels is conducted to ensure fair and professional gaming at the highest level of integrity to the player.
    • To provide internal controls upon which passengers can rely to assure them that the gambling is operated with the utmost integrity.
    • To provide a form of entertainment for passengers that is responsive to the customers’ requests.
  • Facilities and Equipment
All equipment purchased and installed on cruise vessels will meet the regulatory standards of the Nevada Gaming Control Board or other licensed jurisdiction for payback and internal software.
  • Rules of Play
Each cruise line will provide a gaming guide setting forth the rules of play for their casino. These rules of play shall generally follow those established for casinos in Nevada, New Jersey, or England. These house rules will also be made available in every casino. Each member line will post at every gaming table minimum and maximum betting limits for each game.
  • Internal Controls
All shipboard gambling operations will be inspected by each member line’s internal audit department on a regular basis, not to exceed 12 months. All casinos will have detailed internal control procedures concerning the cash and coin counts, casino cage procedures and other processes, similar to licensed jurisdictions. Each line will employ some form of surveillance to assure operations are fair and equitable for all parties. Each line will separate the operation of the casino from the financial aspects of the casino as clearly as possible, including specific duties for cashiers and table gaming staff.
  • Customer Service
The onboard casino operations will be the overall responsibility of the Hotel Director, who is charged with ensuring the highest standard of conduct for casino staff. In case of a gaming dispute, any passenger who feels he or she has an issue that cannot be resolved by the Casino Manager should bring it up to the Hotel Manager, and every effort will be made to resolve the problem. If the issue is not resolved onboard the vessel, each ship will have at the casino cage a current list of contact information for their home office or casino operator where the passenger can pursue their dispute. The cruise vessel will have onboard comment cards for the inclusion of any comment, concern, or means to improve the gambling system onboard the vessel. Gambling is strictly for the enjoyment of the passengers who choose to avail themselves of this form of entertainment.

Entertainment & Activities

The gorgeous view isn’t the only thing that will dazzle you onboard our cruise ships. See a contemporary musical stage production or catch a live band. Or be part of the fun with ballroom dancing lessons, ice-skating, or miniature golf. Then you can write home to tell everyone about it from our Internet Café.

With the glitz, glamour and special effects, you’ll think the ship has docked on Broadway. Performed in our magnificent theatre, our live productions feature the outstanding talent of The Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers, along with well-known performers and headline acts.

It could be a contemporary musical stage production or a Las Vegas-inspired floorshow. Maybe headline entertainment or a comedy act. Whatever or whomever is on stage, one thing is for sure you’ll be amazed. All production shows are produced exclusively for Royal Caribbean and the Royal Caribbean Singers and Dancers, with a variety of shows playing during your cruise vacation.

Some guests want to sit back, relax and be entertained while others want to join in on the action. Well, there’s something for everyone, every day of the week. In fact, there’s always so much going on, you may find the hardest decision is choosing what to do first.

Something new is featured everyday and entertainment varies from ship to ship – your Cruise Compass and Daily Planner will have all the details, including time and place. But to give you a taste of what goes on, here are few of our guests’ favorites:

On a Royal Caribbean cruise vacation you’ll never run out of things to do. From dance classes to belly-flop contests, our ships offer something special and new for all guests, young and old. If you’re going to be vacationing with kids, from toddlers to teenagers, we offer activities for them too. To give you an idea of just how many cool things you can do onboard, take a look at some of the most popular onboard activities. Onboard activities are different for every ship and every itinerary – your Cruise Compass and Daily Planner will have all the details, including time and place.

Spa

With so much to do onboard, plus countless adventures on land, remember to take time for yourself. After all, it’s your vacation! So why not indulge a little and head to the ShipShape® Day Spa.

Treat yourself to a pedicure or facial, or go for something you’ve never tried before, like a seaweed wrap or aroma stone therapy massage. Let us soothe your body, smooth your skin and send your mind to a sensory heaven. You may even surprise yourself. What seems fun and extravagant, is actually a pathway to your own personal well-being. Treat yourself to a cruise massage, a pedicure, a facial or just relax in the cruise ship spa.

Sports and Fitness

We offer so many sport and fitness choices that you’ll break a sweat just trying to choose what to do next. Play basketball or volleyball on our Sports Deck. Climb our signature rock wall. Take a spinning class. Work out with one of our fitness trainers or enjoy a yoga class with an ocean view. Royal Caribbean offers scuba diving cruises and fitness cruises with state of the art equipment including a rock climbing wall.

Shops & Galleries

Our cruise ships visit some of the most exciting shopping destinations and museums in the world. But you don’t have to leave the ship to shop or see some of the world’s finest artwork. We have a wide selection of shops onboard. Plus art galleries, art auctions, and a chance to explore some other activities, like wine tastings.

Bars, Lounges & Nightclubs

The excitement onboard the cruise ship doesn’t stop when the sun goes down. Dance the night away to hot Latin rhythms, watch a live band play your favorite song, laugh with a comedian, or enjoy a cocktail with some new friends in our bars, lounges and discos.

Cruisetours

There are some places a 900-foot cruise ship can’t go!

Coastal regions are beautiful, but to see some of the most interesting cities and sights, you need to explore further inland. That’s why Royal Caribbean created cruisetours, a combination of an exciting cruise vacation and land tour that allows you to experience all that your vacation destination has to offer. Take in the scenery, local flavor, cultures and historic landmarks all while traveling by deluxe motorcoach or train and staying in some of the finest and best-located hotel properties. Royal Caribbean offers cruisetours to the destinations of Alaska, the Canadian Rockies, Whistler and Europe, and in most cases the land portion of your cruisetour can be taken either before or after your cruise.

What are Cruisetours?

Our cruisetours offer the best of land and sea vacations by combining your Alaska or Europe cruise with an exciting land tour adventure. And as anyone who’s traveled before knows, coastal areas are beautiful, but some of the most interesting cities and sights are often inland.

On a cruisetour, you’re able to see everything – fabulous ports of call along the coast, and magnificent cities and sights located inland.

All of our Alaska and Europe cruisetours are 100% escorted by expert Tour Guides and have been designed to maximize your time spent sightseeing on many of the inclusive tours, as well as give you the opportunity to explore on your own. And in some cases, you can decide to take the land tour portion either before or after your cruise.

But the bigger decision will be where to take your adventure. We offer nineteen cruisetours to Alaska, four cruisetours to the Canadian Rockies – two to the premier resort town of Whistler – and four cruisetours to Europe, including two out of Harwich (London), England and two out of Barcelona, Spain.

In addition to your cruise vacation, the land portion of the cruisetour includes accommodations in some of the finest hotels, as well as many inclusive activities, such as city tours, a Riverboat Sternwheeler Tour in Alaska or visits to National Parks, just to name a few.

Our Alaska and Europe cruisetours are 100% escorted by expert Tour Guides and have been designed to maximize your time spent sightseeing on many of the inclusive tours, as well as give you the opportunity to explore on your own.

If you want the best of both worlds – a fantastic cruise vacation and a land tour adventure – a Royal Caribbean cruisetour is just what you’re looking for.
